The Metal Detox Process

L’Oréal's Metal Detox is a 3-step professional system. It’s compatible with all the hair color and lightener brands we use at The Color Room. Here’s how our stylists apply the detox treatment:

Step 1: Pre-treatment

Before coloring or lightening services begin, we spray the hair with the Metal Detox pre-treatment and leave it in the hair while preparing the coloring formulas. The pre-treatment doesn’t get rinsed out.

Step 2: Sulfate-free Shampoo

After the coloring service, your stylist will rinse your hair with the Metal Detox sulfate-free shampoo. You’ll enjoy a relaxing head massage while your stylist lathers the shampoo into a rich foam.

Step 3: Conditioner/Mask

After rinsing the shampoo from your hair, your stylist applies a conditioner or mask based on your hair type. If you have fine or thin hair, a conditioner is applied and left on for no longer than one minute. Guests with medium-to-thick hair can expect a mask treatment that’s left on the hair anywhere from 1-15 minutes before the hair’s rinsed thoroughly.

We recommend that you include the Metal Detox hair treatment with each coloring service or every eight weeks. The treatment can also be used as a standalone service or an add-on service for haircut and blowout clients. The steps are the same, and the results are phenomenal.
