Get the Inside Scoop on Our Estheticians’ Beauty Routines

Steal their tips and tricks to get the best skin of your life!

It’s easy to forget that your skin is your body’s largest organ. Not only is your skin your body’s largest organ, but it’s also the organ that’s exposed to external environmental factors 24/7/365 — and the organ that gets neglected the most.

Would you neglect your heart, your lungs, or your kidneys?

Of course, not!

Here’s something you might not realize: neglecting your skin or using the wrong products doesn’t only make your skin look tired, dull, and sallow. A poorly executed skincare routine using toxic products can actually harm your health and affect your internal organs too!

A 2020 article published by Harvard Medical School stated that, on average, women use 12 different beauty-related products daily from skin care products to makeup and everything in between. Many of these products include some pretty scary chemical components.

“Just because it’s on your shelf doesn’t mean it’s safe to use,” warns Tamarra James-Todd, the Mark Catherin Winkler Assistant Professor of Environmental Reproductive and Perinatal Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

The chemicals in some of the products on the shelves in your local department store are filled with toxic chemical cocktails that could increase your risk for potential health risks, including cancer.

You can’t trust labels, but you can trust your esthetician.

Buying products blindly based on reviews (which could be incentivized), attractive, eye-catching packaging, and price points (even expensive products aren’t always great for you) isn’t doing your skin or health any favors.

What does your skin a world of good is working with a licensed esthetician who’s trained and understands the science behind good skincare and professional products, treatments, and makeup. Your skincare routine is unique to you — even if you think your skin is like your daughter’s, your mom’s, or your best friend’s, it’s not. Everyone has different skin concerns that require different types of products and treatments to keep it healthy, glowing, and well-protected from the sun.

Different Routines for Different Skin Types

After peeping our estheticians’ beauty/skincare routines, you probably noticed that they’re quite different. The reason is that there’s not one skincare regimen that fits all — there’s not even a singular routine for one person.

As seasons change and lifestyles change, reevaluating your skincare routine is necessary. You want to make sure you're using the products, in the right order, at the right time, to treat your skin well and achieve your desired results.

For example, our Level 4 esthetician Olivia has an as-needed retinol regimen that she only does for a couple of months. Our other estheticians also change up the products they use once in a while to address specific skin concerns or to expose their skin to a slightly new routine for boosted results.

What never changes is our estheticians' devotion to proper sun care. Treating your skin well means protecting it from UV rays and other environmental factors all year. That’s right — you must be wearing sunscreen all year. But you already knew that, right?

The Best Skin of Your Life Begins at The Color Room

Developing a skincare routine doesn’t have to feel overwhelming, not when you work closely with a licensed esthetician at The Color Room.

Schedule a consultation with one of our amazing estheticians and learn what skincare services will address your skin concerns and help you plan out your skin services. For example, do you get injectables like Jeuveau™ or fillers? If so, you want to plan services like hydrafacials and dermaplaning before the service or at least two weeks after

Your esthetician will also recommend products to enhance your beauty routine and help you achieve the best skin of your life!
